Home: Hunt Montana Buffalo

Elk River Outfitters was recently highlighted on two episodes of Jon Baker’s Guide for Adventure on the Sportsman’s Channel.  Here are a couple of short clips.

ELK RIVER OUTFITTERS BUFFALO HUNTS

If you have ever wanted to experience a real buffalo hunt, then Elk River Outfitters has the hunt for you.  Our hunts take place right in the middle of where the buffalo hunting took place in the 19th century and earlier, the vast back country of eastern Montana.

Because the herd we hunt is a free-roaming, wild herd, the game taken here is eligible for Boone & Crockett  scoring.  Most other buffalo hunts DO NOT qualify for this.

The herd we hunt contains over 2,000 free roaming buffalo that range in an area encompassing some 250,000 acres.  Our hunt is a real “spot and stalk” hunt and also a great adventure.  This is no pasture hunt – it is truly the hunt of a lifetime.

We tailor our hunts to your needs, desires and abilities.  Hunters can use traditional or modern firearms, and also decide if they want a trophy or meat animal.  Hunters can travel by vehicle, horseback, or helicopter, depending on the time of year and your preference.
